I’m drawn to two things when I visit a person’s home — photographs and word art. It’s interesting to gaze at the photographs on display — they allow me a peek into that person’s life, sometimes offering glimpses of their extended family and even their journey so far.
The word art, in the form of quotes or phrases, do something better. They give me an insight into the nature of the person — what do they like? what are their values and beliefs? what makes them tick? What are they passionate about? They’re more than just a part of the décor; they’re there to inspire and remind the people living in that home of the things that matter to them. Sometimes they’re there just to make you smile. One of my acquaintances had this quote pinned on her wall,
“
SOME PEOPLE
JUST NEED
A HIGH FIVE.
In the face.
With a chair.”
The poster was perfectly suited for her whacky sense of humour and her knack of saying things in a rather direct, unapologetic way! That’s why I like personalized presents in the form of posters and boards with phrases and funny motivational quotes. You can tailor them to match the nature and personality of the people you’re giving them to.
Like this quote: It’s just right for introverts
All you need is a quote or phrase that’s in line with who they are or what they do. You can even paint one of your own. Here are some others I created digitally.
This quote is perfect for chai lovers
A personalized present for those who love gardening
Wouldn’t this be perfect for photographers?
My favourite one is the one for introverts. It speaks to me! Which one do you like best? Go on, make your own personalized present…say it with words.
